Sango's African
Safari Experiences

For some, a ‘holiday’ doesn’t mean a lounger on a pristine, white sandy beach. Rather, it’s the desire to experience a true adventure, where a bit of roughing it is the desired intent.

Go on an educational and spiritual experience that connects you to the bare elements and offers both a physical challenge and reward. This is your chance to truly fall off the grid, disconnect from the outside world and take the road less travelled – a must-do in Africa.

Exclusive Baobab Safari

Exclusive Baoabab Safari

Have you ever picnicked in a baobab tree and watched the animals at a waterhole from above? Then join us on this unique “Baobab Safari” and experience a unique blend of climbing and safari on a thousand-year-old baobab tree.

Don’t worry, the tree won’t be harmed and the portal ledges, known from mountain climbing, are perfectly safe. Our Anti-Poaching Unit regularly uses these mobile platforms in their work and this is how the idea for the “Baobab Safari” came about. On request, we set up the platform for our guests before the visit, instruct them in the simple technique and off they go. An unforgettable experience from a truly unique perspective.

RHINO CONSERVATION WEEKS 2024

Sango Private Game Reserve is committed to ensuring the survival of Africa’s elephant herds. At regular intervals the herds on Sango have been collared to assist with monitoring and tracking their movements. From time to time, one of the elephant collars utilised in this research will be in need of replacing and we invite groups (sharing one vehicle) to participate in this extraordinary experience. Guests will play an active role in the day’s adventure. Once the animal is located and darted the guests will have the unique opportunity to touch the anaesthetised elephant as they change its collar.

Dates:
Rhino counting and notching takes place over two weeks in August each year. This activity is included in your rate.
